Jai Bhim Saptaha

In the year 2024, IIT Delhi has replaced the observance of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary- a one-day event into a vibrant, weeklong celebration, Jai Bhim Saptaha. For the past two years, this initiative has been jointly organized by the SC/ST Cell and the Initiative for Caste Equity (ICE), in collaboration with the SC/ST Employees’ Welfare Association, National Service Scheme (NSS), Central Library, Board for Student Welfare (BSW), Board for Recreational and Creative Activities (BRCA), and the broader student community.

The week features a rich series of events, including public lectures, workshops, art exhibitions, film screenings, book fairs, theatre performances, and student-led activities like “Print Your Preamble.” These engagements are thoughtfully curated to honor Dr. Ambedkar’s enduring legacy while deepening awareness of social justice, equity, and constitutional values. Jai Bhim Saptaha offers an immersive space for reflection, dialogue, and collective celebration of Ambedkarite thought and action.

Blood Donation Drive

A blood donation drive was organized in collaboration with Blood Connect and the National Service Scheme (NSS). The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, staff, and faculty members, with over 220 individuals donating blood. The drive aimed not only to contribute to a lifesaving cause but also to promote the values of compassion, social responsibility, and community service inspired by Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s legacy.
